It is the third game in the Burnout series of video games. Released
on September 7, 2004, developed by Criterion Games and published by
Electronic Arts (the first Burnout game EA published), the game drew
critical acclaim and a large fan base.
While the Burnout series was always about arcade racing fun, Burnout 3 took things to a whole new level with the introduction of crash mode and road rage. There might be better ways to burn off the frustration of the day than racing down a road at blistering speeds while trying to force your opponents off the road and into spectacular crashes, but we doubt that they're legal.
Burnout 3 takes the hit series even further, now featuring a unique "crash and burn" racing concept and a one-of-a-kind special effects engine that delivers spectacular visuals. The intensity heats up as players race, and often crash, their way through oncoming traffic in an attempt to claim the top spot. Boasting multiple single-player, multiplayer and online crash and race modes, Burnout 3 offers players the opportunity to race through busy city streets and be rewarded for taking risks that result in heart-pounding action and electrifying crashes.
I have rarely, if ever, found a driving game that made my adrenaline pump, caused me to break out in a cold sweat and had me swearing violently at the screen while still gagging for more of the same - until now.
The single player ROCKS! However, EA totally screwed up multiplayer with disconnects every several minutes. They should have left the servers to M$.
Absolutely stunning. One of the best games there are on the PS2. It gives you a real sense of speed (even the slowest cars) and the fastest cars make you feel like they're doing 300! I don't see how you could improve on this game...but still let them try.…
